St George's Bristol

Great venue in central Bristol. Good acoustics, the performers are close to the audience wherever you are seated. Great bar and areas outside to sit.

Excellent venue. Compact venue with enough room for people to pass. Good bar and cafe, water available in the auditorium and toilets also good. Has a gallery where you trace the venue's history. The site was a church dating back to 1820s. Highly recommend.

I spent nearly £200 on 2 Meet & Greet tickets for Jimmy Nail. 1) people had to queue up a stair case to meet him. And while this wasn't an issue for me, several older people struggled. One 85 year old woman standing in front of us needed to come out of the queue in order to sit down, she was so exhausted. So, very poor access to the venue. 2) The Website and the tickets all said 19:00. Then at 14:30 on the day of show, the venue sent an email saying the Meet & Greet started at 17:30 and we were advised to.be there 15 minutes beforehand. Both me and my partner were in our respective places of work and had to request time off from our bosses at incredibly short notice, to get there on time. 3) The venue was so hot, so incredibly hot that even Jimmy Nail could see that people in the audience were struggling and asked the staff to open the back doors. But this did nothing for us sitting near the front. I began to feel faint. Something I had never experience before. I felt I was on the verge of collapsing. I had to leave my seat and try to get out of the venue before the end of the 1st half. But staff refused to let me out of the main exit and told me I had to walk even further, despite me being at severe risk of collapsing. I managed to get outside and spend 2 hours recovering. Now, no doubt you will cite unusually warm conditions. But this review is about your failure to manage the site properly placing me and others at risk of health issues. Rushing to the venue, inaccessibility, poor management of venue. Near £200 and I was made so ill, I had to leave before the end of the 1st half. Disgraceful.

A great performance from the 'Down for the Count 'swing orchestra at St George's a must see in a great venue.

Came for a conference dinner. Good food and service. Can recommend.
