Great studio/production complex. A bit of a rabbit warren initially but easy enough to navigate after a short while. The frontage is quite quirky; I kinda like it. Around the back are the outdoor sets for such productions as Casualty and Pobol y Cwm, while indoors are the many studios and stages along with all the requisite offices, green rooms, costume and make up departments, workshops, etc. Reception and facility staff are always lovely (with me anyway!) and entry can only be gained by appointment/job engagement. Take photo ID, and be prepared for a quick bag check if you're carrying one. The canteen is nice and big and comfortable and well appointed. I was tempted to give 4 stars because of the parking situation, but I think I've just been unlucky getting a space outside on the days I visit (street parking bays and kerbside fill quickly in the mornings; at time of writing the private pay & display system is not in service so parking is free). Other parking is available on the main Bay side of the lock, by the Norwegian Church for example which is Cardiff Council pay and display (machines or the MiPermit app), or the Q-Park multistorey next to the Wales Millennium Centre (but allow a 12-15min walk from that one). Road access and exit is only possible/allowed from the docks end of Porth Teigr Way via Tyneside Road. Traffic is not permitted across the lock gates bridge to the Norwegian Church and main areas of Cardiff Bay.
